Good choice for companionship on an airplane. It's absorbing third-eye candy. It makes me think of The Velvet Underground's Venus in Furs, what with the droning regularity of middle eastern-inspired psychedelia. If you start thinking about lyrical comparisons, you might find an essay starting to develop, but I'll at least say that both seem to have, at the core, the black hole of obsessive longing. (That's a black hole in an astrological sense.)

This album has a desolate, desert aura to it that sets it apart from other outings in their discography, and the riffs in "Green Sugar" demand air-sitar play. "Melted Crystal" is the real gem, though.
